Fat Grafting is a natural and minimally invasive solution to restore the lost volume, due to the passage of time, and enhance the appearance of certain areas of your body. So if you are losing fat in selected areas of your body, Fat Grafting may work for you.
How is a Fat Grafting procedure performed?
Basically, the fat is taken from the excess fat areas of the body and transferred to those where volume is needed. It is mainly used for reshaping the body surface, reducing wrinkles, for lip augmentation and filling the skinny faces.
By restoring volume to specific areas of the face (the midface, periorbital, perioral and temporal regions respond particularly well), fat transfer not only expands the skin but also provides a lift. Basically, what this procedure does is transferring fat from excess areas and injects it into those may be lacking in volumes, such as your face, hands, breasts or buttocks.
One of the benefits of this technique is that there is no risk of rejection or allergic reaction, as the fat is taken from the patient’s own body.
There is also evidence that grafted fat contributes to the healing process and improves the condition of the overlying skin. Additionally, the effects of Fat Grafting can last for many years, although the procedure can be repeated if required.
